What decking materials do you recommend for Gold Coast weather?
We recommend hardwoods like spotted gum, composite decking, or treated pine for durability. All depending on your budget, style, maintenance required etc – we believe in offering a quality product from the ground up so we only use galvanised steel posts to ensure that your structure will stand the test of time. The framing timber ( joists and bearers ) will also be specific to your application being either H3 or H4 treated structural pine or hardwood if you prefer. Once the frame is installed the joists will then be further protected with a joist tape to prolong the life of the material and then last but not least our decking boards get oiled all 4 side before installation to ensure maximum oil penetration and protection
Do I need council approval for a new deck?
Approval depends on the deck’s height and size. We can handle all necessary approvals if required.
How long does it take to build a deck?
Most decks take 1–3 weeks to complete, depending on size, materials, and weather conditions.
Can you build decks for sloping blocks?
Yes, we specialise in building decks on difficult terrains, including sloped and uneven ground.
How do I maintain a timber deck?
Regular oiling, cleaning, and minor repairs will keep your deck looking great and lasting longer. We offer a maintenance package where in the first 12 months ( which is the most important on timber decks that we get as much oil into the timber as we can ) we pressure wash, scrub with a specialised deck wash and re oil the timber. This is advised on a case by case basis depending on how exposed the deck is to the weather.
Is composite decking better than timber?
Composite decking requires less maintenance and is resistant to fading, but timber offers a classic look.
Can you add stairs, railings, or balustrades to my deck?
Absolutely! We offer a range of design options, including stairs, glass, timber, or steel balustrades.
Can I extend my existing deck?
